The Art of Education University (AOEU) is seeking a District Sales Manager who will play an instrumental role in presenting and introducing our enterprise solutions to mid-sized K-12 school districts.  This position involves developing and managing sales opportunities within an assigned territory, accurately forecasting future performance,  delivering on an assigned quota, and professionally representing our institution's best interests.

District Sales Manager | The Details | 

Essential Functions

  • Formulate and execute a comprehensive sales plan within the assigned territory/region, develop a healthy and accurate pipeline, and close new business.
  • Responsible for submitting accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual sales performance forecasts.
  • Exceed quarterly and annual quotas.
  • Directs the selling activities within an assigned territory, inclusive of resource deployment and the majority of direct communication.
  • Deliver exceptional online and occasional on-site product presentations to both small and large groups.
  • Evaluate market trends, education legislation, and gather competitive information, identify trends that affect current and future growth of sales and profitability.
  • Engage potential clients in meaningful discussions regarding their needs and goals in order to cultivate a convincing or persuasive solution presentation.
  • Adaptively present solutions in a consultative approach and advance new business in a complex K-12 business environment.
  • Consistently report on new business opportunities to lead and strategize on efforts to progress towards a close.
  • Travel up to 5% or as needed.

Work Environment

The duties of this position are typical of those performed in a home office setting with normal ranges of temperature.  The majority of tasks will be performed while sitting at a desk.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Position requires considerable concentration and focus throughout the day.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift items such as laptops, monitors, and the like.
  • When traveling: 
    • The ability to lift or push your suitcase.
    • Ability to carry/lift up to 25-50 lbs of presentation materials for customers or for conference presentations, etc.


VISUAL & TACTILE REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to view computer screens for significant periods of time.  The Art of Education University is an online university.  Therefore 95-98% of one’s time will be on or using technology.
  • Ability to use a laptop keyboard with accuracy.
  • Ability to hear at normal levels and through electronic devices such as laptops, earbuds, phones, and the like.


Position Requirements

EDUCATION

  •  Bachelor's degree strongly preferred, but not required


EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of Enterprise or B2B complex sales experience
  • Enterprise software sales experience, preferably in K-12 curriculum and professional learning software platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience working with a variety of technology and technology platforms.
  • Hubspot CRM knowledge is a big plus.


Compensation & Benefits

POSITION DETAILS

Structured as a full-time, exempt, and salaried position with an added commission and bonus plan.  Compensation is commensurate with education and experience.  Salary is paid on the 15th and last business day (closest prior weekday) of each month.  Commissions, if any, are paid on the 1st of each month.

Group healthcare plans are available.  The Art of Education University will contribute 70% for full-time employees family health, dental, and vision.


The Art of Education University offers participation, upon hire, of a 401K plan with up to a 4% match of employee contributions.


Appropriate and up-to-date technology is provided.


Unlimited self-managed PTO is offered to full-time members of AOEU.  Extended vacations must be pre-approved.  Flexibility exists so long as responsibilities are fulfilled and careful

planning and communication are evident.


Timeline

THE PROCESS

Candidates who make it to Round 2 of the Application process will be required to complete a packet for review prior to their scheduled interview time.  


Finalists will have one final culture interview with the President of the University.
