The Art of Education University (AOEU) is seeking a highly creative and skilled graphic designer to join our rapidly growing team. This individual will collaborate with the team and design various print and digital projects aligned with AOEU’s mission and brand. This individual must be highly motivated, capable of delivering creative ideas, and possess fantastic attention to detail. The successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has excellent communication and technical skills.

The Details | Graphic Designer | 


Essential Functions

  • Work closely with the Art Director, Marketing team, and other content creators to collaborate on print and digital projects.
  • Be a creative partner working alongside internal stakeholders to understand their goals and audience needs to design solutions to meet those needs. 
  • Design website graphics and landing pages, printed collateral, email, social graphics, and design of resources for all AOEU products.
  • Create these materials by hand or by using technology; specifically Adobe Creative Cloud, WordPress, HubSpot, and more while meeting desired timelines.
  • Apply the AOEU brand guidelines and follow internal processes and project management guidelines. 
  • Produce drafts for review by other designers, writers, and stakeholders and make revisions based on the feedback received.
  • Review final designs for errors and ensure that final products reflect stakeholder specifications and meet the original goals of the project and audience needs. 


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Ability to quickly learn various technology platforms and new applications with ease and confidence.
  • Strong typography, composition, and illustration skills. 
  • Ability to execute creative design solutions while staying on brand. 
  • Ability to clearly communicate (oral, written, and video) the thinking behind design choices.
  • Organization and project management skills.
  • Leadership skills to guide cross-functional teams through complex design projects on time and on budget. 
  • Ability to recognize stakeholder needs and modify creative strategies to meet those needs.
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS preferred.
  • Possess a compelling portfolio showcasing skills that are relevant to AOEU’s visual content goals.


Work Environment

The duties of this position are typical of those performed in a home office setting with normal ranges of temperature.  The majority of tasks will be performed while sitting at a desk.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Position requires considerable concentration and focus throughout the day.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift items such as laptops, monitors, and the like.
  • When traveling: 
    • The ability to lift or push your suitcase.
    • Ability to carry/lift up to 25-50 lbs of presentation materials for customers or for conference presentations, etc.


VISUAL & TACTILE REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to view computer screens for significant periods of time.  The Art of Education University is an online university.  Therefore 95-98% of one’s time will be on or using technology.
  • Ability to use a laptop keyboard with accuracy.
  • Ability to hear at normal levels and through electronic devices such as laptops, earbuds, phones, and the like.

  • 2 or more years of graphic design experience


Compensation and Benefits


POSITION DETAILS

Structured as a full-time exempt salaried position.  Compensation is commensurate with education and experience.  Payroll is issued on a semi-monthly basis paid on the 15th and last day of each month.

Timeline


THE PROCESS

Persons interested in applying should complete the application form linked below.  Applicants are required to submit a short 1-3 minute video explaining why they would like to be considered for the position and why they are uniquely qualified.  Failure to submit a video will automatically eliminate you from the application process.


Candidates who make it to Round 2 of the application process will be required to complete a packet for review, prior to their scheduled interview time.  


Finalists will have one final culture interview with a member of the Sr. Leadership Team.
