The Details | Team & Culture Admin. Assistant | 


Essential Functions


  • Demonstrated ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
  • Organizes, compiles, and maintains employee records and documentation
  • Assists in the recruitment of new team members around the globe.
  • Answers departmental phone calls.
  • Posts and updates available positions within the institution’s HRIS platform.
  • Collects and files tax information from vendors and contractors
  • Assists in the orientation and training of new team members
  • Collaboratively works with the Team and Culture Manager on a variety of projects and in the achievement of departmental strategic goals.
  • Sets up onboarding packets for all new employees ensuring all forms and other documentation is completed with accuracy.
  • Works collaboratively with the Customer Engagement Manager in planning and launching the annual Team Retreat.
  • Supports benefits administration and record-keeping.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Work Environment


The duties of this position are typical of those performed in an office setting with normal ranges of temperature.  There will be normal to high levels of background noise depending on the activities in the office.  AOEU is a shared working space.  The majority of tasks will be performed while sitting at a desk.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Position requires considerable concentration and focus throughout the day, often with other background noise.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift items such as laptops, monitors, reams of paper, and the like.


VISUAL & TACTILE REQUIREMENTS


  • Ability to view computer screens for significant periods of time.  The Art of Education University is an online university.  Therefore 95-98% of one’s time will be on or using technology.
  • Ability to use a laptop keyboard with accuracy.
  • Ability to hear at normal levels and through electronic devices such as laptops, earbuds, phones, and the like.


Position Requirements


EDUCATION


Minimum of an AA-degree required unless the applicant has demonstrated experience in the field; BA degree strongly preferred.


EXPERIENCE


  • 3-5 years of administrative assistant experience preferred
  • 2 years plus experience in human resources strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience working with a variety of technology and technology platforms.
  • HRIS knowledge is a plus.
  • Reliable high-speed internet required.


LOCATION


  • Applicants must be within 30-45 miles of AOEU Headquarters located in Osage, Iowa.


Compensation & Benefits


Structured as a part-time, hourly position, with the potential to become full-time.  Compensation is commensurate with education and experience.  Payroll is issued on a monthly basis, on the 15th.

The work schedule is flexible (Monday - Friday) as long as work is completed in a thorough and timely manner and meets or exceeds the expectations of the institution.

THE PROCESS


Persons interested in applying should complete the application form linked below.  Applicants are required to submit a short 1-3 minute video explaining why they would like to be considered for the position and why they are uniquely qualified.  Failure to submit a video will automatically eliminate you from the application process.


Candidates who make it to Round 2 of the Application process will be required to complete a packet for review, prior to their scheduled interview time.  


Finalists will have one final culture interview with the President of the University.
