REMOTE PT Compliance Specialist | The Profession  

Do you love asking hard questions, researching to find answers, and sharing your findings with others in an easy to understand way? Are you experienced in K-12 education with an understanding of teacher licensure?

The Art of Education University (AOEU) is seeking a remote part-time Compliance Specialist to work closely with the Director of Compliance and Education Policy. The Compliance Specialist is responsible for researching, interpreting, and analyzing areas of compliance where further information is needed. Specifically, the Compliance Specialist will research K-12 teacher licensure, state requirements, curriculum adoption,  accreditation, and other areas as required.

The Details | Compliance Specialists | 

Essential Functions

• Completes annual state by state audit and additional research as needed. 
• Reviews marketing content and provides final edits/approval when related to compliance.
• Stays up-to-date on policy and supports the institution with research to stay compliant.
• Supports chat/ compliance pipeline in Hubspot.
• Supports creating and delivering compliance training for all onboarding and providing ongoing checking for understanding and training.
• Provides assistance in completing RFQ, RFP, and state adoption forms.
• Assists with special compliance-related projects.
• Research alternative pathways to teacher certification.

• Strong understanding/background in K-12 education
• Enjoys research and strong attention to detail and documentation.
• Able to interpret research and apply information to institutional projects and goals.
• Ability to understand state policy and regulations around teacher licensure and accreditation.

Work Environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Position requires considerable concentration and focus.
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift items such as laptops, monitors, and the like.

VISUAL & TACTILE REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to view computer screens for significant periods.  The Art of Education University is an online university; therefore, 95-98% of one’s time will be on or using technology.
• Ability to use a laptop or other keyboard with accuracy.
• Ability to hear at normal levels and through electronic devices such as laptops, earbuds, phones, and the like.

Position Requirements

EDUCATION

•  Master’s degree preferred but not required

EXPERIENCE

• Experience in creating and delivering effective training.
• Experience in higher education, teacher licensure/advancement, preferred. 

Compensation & Benefits

POSITION DETAILS

Structured as a part-time, hourly position, non-exempt position, this individual will report directly to Amber Kane, Director of Compliance and Education Policy.  Compensation is commensurate with education and experience. Payroll is remitted on the 15th on the 15th of the month.

Timeline

THE PROCESS

Individuals interested in applying for the position of Compliance Specialists need to complete the application form linked below.  As part of the application process, all applicants are required to submit a short 1-3 minute video explaining a little about themselves and why they believe they are uniquely qualified for the position.  Failure to submit a video will automatically eliminate applicants from the application process.

 

Candidates progressing to Round 2 will be required to complete a packet for review before participating in a scheduled interview.

Finalists will participate in an interview with the Director of Compliance and Education Policy.

 

All applicants and candidates will be notified of the status of their application for the position.

THE TIMELINE

• Interested applicants should apply by January 31, 2021.
• Interviews will be held in the first part of February 2021.
• Position start date is March 1, 2021.
